According to family sources, Son was missing since last Sunday night. Allegedly, after being searched, his family was called and demanded a ransom of Rs 6 lakh. Since then the family members were worried about his safety. On Wednesday morning, local residents of Punnudhi forest area, who went for morning walk and morning rituals, smelled foul smell. Later, after finding an unidentified dead body inside the forest, they informed the police. Police reached the spot and recovered the dead body. After receiving the news, ACP Jaffad Hussain, officer-in-charge of Kulti police station and police officer of Niyamatpur police station reached the spot. The dead body has been sent to Asansol District Hospital for post mortem. In the preliminary investigation, the dead body has been identified as that of Sonu Vishwakarma.
