Durga Roy, a 90 year old woman, broke down in tears in front of Trinamool Congress candidate and sitting MLA Vidhan Upa Dhyay while campaigning. According to local sources, Durga Rai, a resident of Seemanpalli, has been living in that area for a long time. After the death of his only son and marriage of his daughters, he currently lives alone. He exercised his right to vote regularly for so long but recently he was shocked to see 'Deleted' written next to his name in the voter list. One day, the old lady had tears in her eyes when she went to tell about her problems to Vidhan Upa Dhyay, who had come for publicity. His question was, “I am alive, so why has my name been cut off? What will I do if I don't have a name?” After listening to this complaint of old lady, Vidhan Upadhyay took humanitarian initiative. He directed the party leadership and concerned officials to look into the matter at the spot and assured to include the name soon. Regarding this, Vidhan Upa Dhaya said, "Such incidents are creating panic among the common people. But Trinamool Congress is always with the people. As long as Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee are there, there is no reason for anyone to be afraid." There was a sensation in the area around the incident.
