বাঁকুড়া মেডিক্যাল কলেজে ‘মডেল’ শৌচালয় নির্মাণে অনিয়মের অভিযোগ, ভোটের আগে চাঞ্চল্য

Fearless Bengali, own correspondent, বাঁকুড়া: Allegations of irregularities arose around the plan to construct two 'model' toilets at a cost of about Rs 19 lakh in the Swachh Bharat Mission and 'Mission Nirmal Bangla' project at the nearby Medical College and Hospital. Allegations have been raised that despite the board being installed, no actual progress was made in the work. As per the plan, one toilet was to be constructed in front of the hospital outdoor and the other in front of the main gate. It is reported that the work started on 19th November 2025 under the supervision of Baankudah Municipality and was scheduled to be completed within 90 days but it has not started yet. Locals claim that no construction material has been brought there till now. Apart from this, the construction work of another toilet in front of the Municipal Corporation at a cost of about Rs. 6.5 lakhs is still incomplete even though the scheduled time has passed. In this situation, anger is increasing in the area. Many complain that despite the allocation of huge amount, the possibility of assimilation of money is being wasted due to lack of work. In comparison, in the government housing project in rural areas, where the allocation for construction of a house is around Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand, questions are being raised about the allocation of such a huge amount for a shop. Political tension has started centering on this incident in the face of votes. Opponents have raised concerns about the issue, although no detailed response has been received from the administration so far.
