Nirbheek Bengali, Basirhat, Saturday: The supplementary voter list published after the SIR process has created excitement in the Champapukur Punchayeth area of Basirhat North assembly. It is learned that about 403 people's voters' names have been omitted from the supplementary list published at booth number 157. In the complaint, the names of the BILs and additional BILs in charge of the concerned party along with the names of their family members have been omitted from the list. Even the names of many people whose names were in the voter list since 2002 have been omitted this time, it is claimed. Angered by this incident, voters took to the streets to protest. Their complaint is that the names of supposedly legitimate voters have been omitted from the list. The protesters demand that the names of all valid voters will have to be re-listed immediately and the Election Commission will have to take immediate action after looking into the matter.
