কামদুনি আন্দোলনের মুখ এবার হাড়োয়ার ভোটযুদ্ধে, ন্যায়বিচারের ইস্যুতে ভরসা বিজেপির

Nirbheek Bengali, Hadoya, Uttar 24 Pargana: BJP candidate Bhaskar Mandal added a new dimension to the election fight of Hadwa assembly centre. This candidate, known as one of the main faces of the sexual freedom movement, has now harnessed the experience of that movement in the political field. Bhaskar Mandal was at the forefront of the intense protest movement that broke out across the state after the rape and murder of Gamduni in 2016. From 2013 to 2018, he served as the President of Kamduni Andolan Manch and was vocal in demanding justice for a long time. She claimed that this movement was not just a protest against a crime, but also raised big questions about women's safety, administrative role and the speed of the justice system. Keeping that experience in mind, he is now contesting the Harwar elections. Even though the number of voters in Hadova Assembly is around 65 percent, the angry BJP candidates are giving special importance to this equation. In his words, “The issues of human security and justice, not religion, are the main issues of my campaign.” He is seen adopting different strategies in the campaign. While campaigning in Deganga Bazar area, he mingled with common people, entered tea shops, prepared tea with his own hands and distributed it among the workers, supporters and local residents. A commotion has been created in the area around the incident. According to political analysts, BJP's fight in this minority dominated center is not easy. But Bhaskar Mandal's publicity strategy by keeping in front a public sensitive issue like Kamduni movement can have some impact. Now it remains to be seen how much the identity of the social movement is reflected in the ballot box and who the voters ultimately support.
