' Fearless Bengali,Wandaman, 11th July: Keeping in view the preparations for Martyr's Day of 1st July, Trinamool Congress MP and lawyer Kalyan Bandyopa Dhaya made a strong attack on the Center and BJP on several political issues in the preparatory meeting organized at the East Vandaman district Trinamool Congress office on Saturday. Former minister Swapan Debnath, Vandaman-Durgarhpur MP Kirti Azad along with district leadership were present in the meeting. Facing the journalists, regarding the bill to suppress goondas introduced in the Parliament, Kalyan Bandyopadhyay said, "Those who once themselves committed hooliganism, today the bill to control goondas has been introduced. Nothing can be a bigger joke than this." Vowing to support the party workers, he declared, "For the next one year, I will not concentrate on employment. My main task will be to fight the numerous cases filed against TMC workers." According to his claim, a case has been filed against about 14 thousand Trinamool workers and supporters across the state. He comments that providing them legal support and standing by them is now one of the main responsibilities of the party. Kalyan Bandyopadhyay, a former MP, took a dig at the government and said, "I became an MP during the Trinamool era. Where is he now? Not just going to the Parliament, meeting the press and visiting homes, standing by the people in times of crisis is the real responsibility of a public representative." Referring to the increase in the price of sand, he complained, "Once the price of sand was Rs 1200, now it has increased to Rs 1600. This price increase has happened during the reign of Shubhendra Adhikari." Regarding the possible direction of the High Court regarding the Martyr's Day rally on July 1, he said, "Wherever the High Court directs to hold a meeting, we will hold the meeting there. We should always respect the direction of the court." In this day's preparation meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding organizational preparation, participation of workers and various organizational issues to make the 1st July program successful. District leadership claims, vigorous preparations are going on with all levels of staff to make the Martyr's Day gathering a success.
