Asansol, Amid discussions about alleged internal strife and division into two groups in Trinamool Congress (TMC) after the change of government in West Bengal, BJP MLA and state minister Agnimitra Pal has made a sharp political attack on TMC. He claimed that now the existence of Trinamool Congress in the state is no longer the same as before and the party has completely disintegrated. Agnimitra Pal said that it would not make any difference if the two factions of Trinamool Congress—one led by Mamata Banerjee and the other led by Ritibrata Banerjee—take their respective claims before the Election Commission. According to him, “Trinamool is no longer Trinamool, it has broken into pieces. Whether they go to the Election Commission or anywhere else, the party is completely disintegrated. This statement of the BJP leader is being considered as a big political attack on the alleged factionalism within TMC in the state politics. However, there has been no immediate official reaction from Trinamool Congress on this matter. Amid the changing political circumstances of the state, the ongoing discussions regarding possible division and leadership in TMC have given a new turn to the politics of Bengal. BJP has been continuously claiming that discontent is growing within TMC, while Trinamool has been rejecting these allegations earlier also.
