Fearless Bengali, Mangalkot, East Vandaman, June 8: The death of a regional president of Trinamool Congress, who was undergoing treatment after being attacked at a meeting in Mangalkot, East Vandaman, has created a stir. Name of the deceased is মিহির ঘোষ (৭২). Based on the family's complaint, the police registered a murder case and started investigation. According to police and family sources, Mir Ghosh was the area president of Trinamool Congress of Mangalkot region. Last May 31, he was called to Puranahat area to attend a meeting. Allegation, he was attacked during the discussion regarding the financial accounts of a Barwari Pooja Committee or after the meeting. The family claims that after the meeting was over, he was beaten with various objects including bricks, sticks, lights etc. in a planned manner. The allegation is that he was lying on the ground with serious injuries. Local residents and family members rescued him and first took him to Mangalkot Primary Health Centre. Later, when his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to Vandhan Medical College Hospital. There, if his physical condition worsens, he is referred for better treatment. Later, Vandaman was admitted to a private nursing home. After undergoing treatment there for eight consecutive days, he died on Sunday morning. As the news of the death spread, an atmosphere of grief and excitement was created in the area. A written complaint has been filed on behalf of the family at Mangalkot police station. Based on the complaint, the police registered a murder case. According to police sources, some people are suspected to be involved in the incident and efforts are underway to identify and arrest the accused. The dead body is being cremated on Sunday at the Mortuary of Vandaman Medical College Hospital. The family members of the deceased demanded immediate arrest of those involved in this incident and exemplary punishment. But investigation is still going on regarding the reason behind the attack and the actual circumstances of the incident. The police are watching from all directions. Note that the charges of assault and premeditated murder were published based on the statement of the deceased's family. The veracity of the allegations is under investigation and has not yet been proven in court.
