Political stir due to social media post of Trinamool councilor Utpal Singh

Asansol, West Bengal A social media post by Trinamool Congress councilor of Asansol Municipal Corporation Utpal Singh has sparked a new debate in the politics of West Bardhaman. In his post, he has raised serious questions about illegal recovery related to coal, sand and iron business while mentioning the alleged "purification campaign" going on in the state. Utpal Singh wrote that in his view, some so-called "trusted" people were involved in the recovery of money for coal, sand and iron in Paschim Bardhaman. He alleged that many good and dedicated workers went on the wrong path due to greed and pressure and in the race to become leaders they had to send money to Kolkata. In his post he also said that the youth who were once good political workers have today become "thieves" due to the circumstances. For this he blamed those leaders who, instead of preparing ideal political workers, allegedly promoted goons and extortionists. The councilor further wrote that the arrest of such leaders is extremely important and if the society is actually purified, then being a Bengali he will be happy. After this statement of Utpal Singh, discussions have intensified in political circles. Although no person or leader has been named in his post, speculations are being made at various levels regarding this. At present, there has been no official response from Trinamool Congress on this post. Political analysts believe that making such comments on a public platform by a public representative of the ruling party is being considered an important development in the politics of Paschim Bardhaman.
