Fearless Bengali, Asansol, 2nd June: Tarun Chakraborty, Trinamool council member of ward number 87 of Asansol city, was arrested for storing the triple allotted for poor and destitute people by the state government in his house. Asansol South Police Station arrested him on Tuesday and presented him in the court. According to police sources, a huge amount of money allotted for distribution among poor and destitute people under the government project has been recovered from the house of a triple councilor. Allegedly, the triplets were stored privately without being delivered to the actual consumers. This incident has created widespread panic across the area. Police said that not only the incident of triple rescue, investigation has also started on several other allegations against the councillor. The allegations include involvement in illegal sand trade, touts and extortion in the name of providing government housing project benefits. Police claims that the veracity of all the allegations will be ascertained through security inquiries. If evidence of the complaint is found in the investigation, necessary action will be taken as per law. Due to this incident, vigorous efforts have started in the political circles. Opposition political parties have focused this incident on raising allegations of corruption against the ruling party. However, the police administration is reluctant to comment in detail on the matter during the investigation process. At present, the administration and political circles are keeping an eye on the entire incident.
