Nirbhik Bengali, Asansol, West Bengal: Keeping in view the upcoming assembly elections, an important change was seen in the political equation in Kulti assembly centre. One-time rebel leader Akhtar Hussain now came on the stage of Trinamool Congress and appealed for votes for the party's candidate Abhiji Ghatak. This incident came to light during an election rally of Trinamool Congress in the area adjacent to Barakar bus stand. Present in the meeting were candidate Abhishek Ghatak and party MP Saayognee Ghosh. It is noteworthy that Akhtar Hussain had recently hinted at contesting against Trinamool Congress as an independent candidate. But recently this change in position has become a matter of political discussion. While addressing the meeting, Akhtar Hussain called for the victory of Trinamool candidate. On the other hand, Abhishek Ghatak in his speech promised the development of the area. He mentioned plans to develop education and health services, build an indoor stadium, cultural auditorium and fire station. In his speech, MP Saayognee Ghosh criticized the central government and advocated for the developmental projects of the state. According to political observers, this change in position of Akhtar Hussain may impact the electoral equation of Kulti Assembly Centre.
