Asansol, West Bengal A controversial incident has come to light amid the election atmosphere in Jamudiya assembly constituency of Asansol. A case of anti-social elements smearing dung on a wall painting made in support of Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Hareram Singh has come to light. After this incident, political tension has increased in the area and huge anger is being seen among Trinamool supporters. Trinamool candidate Hareram Singh has expressed strong displeasure over the incident. He said that such tampering with the wall painting made in his support is an attempt to influence the democratic process. He has demanded an impartial investigation into the entire matter from the Jamudiya police station and has said that strict action will be taken against the culprits. Hareram Singh has also expressed the suspicion of BJP supporters being behind this incident. However, BJP has rejected these allegations outright. BJP leaders say that their party does not believe in such dirty or violent politics and they are in favor of peaceful and fear-free elections. At present, the police is busy investigating the entire matter and an appeal has been made to maintain peace in the area. Amidst the election atmosphere, such incidents further increased the political excitement.
