Salanpur: Trinamool Congress has come out in protest against the growing political tension across the state around the voter list revision process (SIR). On Sunday, a massive bike rally was organized under the initiative of Trinamool Congress in Salanpur Block to protest against SIR. The meeting starts from Salanpur Kalita under Barabani Assembly. From there, thousands of workers-supporters on motorbikes and scooters marched through Dendua, Jemari, Allahabad, Roopnarayanpur and ended near the statue of martyr Siyakulbediya. Trinamool workers participated in various slogans along the way. Present in the meeting were MLA of Barabani Assembly and Mayor of Asansole Municipal Corporation Vidhan Upa Dhyay, Youth Leader Mukul Upa Dhyay and various levels of leadership and workers of the block. At the end of the procession, the leadership and workers present paid respect to the statue of martyr Ratan Pashu. Vidhan Sabha MP alleged that the BJP government, along with the Election Commission, is deliberately trying to exclude the names of many voters from the list. He said that this protest program has been taken to protect democratic rights. He also mentioned that this program has been organized keeping the upcoming assembly elections in mind. He further said that the agitation will continue in the coming days under the instructions of the Chief Minister of the state, Mamta Bandhyopa Dhaya against any attempt to curtail the rights of voters. He claimed that the presence of a large number of people in this day's meeting proved the support of the people towards Trinamool Congress.
