Kulti, West Bengal: Serious allegations of assault and hooliganism have been made against the husband of a Trinamool councilor in Ward No. 62 in Punnudi village under Kulti police station. Allegation, last night of 21st February at around 8 pm, a Hari Naam Sankirtan was organized in Nagarpur village. According to local sources, the organizer of that event was Khama Mandal of Trinamool Congress Council of ward number 62. During the programme, mike, trumpet and sound box were being played at high volume, due to which candidates studying in the area were facing problems, it was alleged. In this situation, a woman from the area is said to have gone to the councilor with a request to reduce the noise. Complaint, that application is rejected. Later, local welfare workers came forward in support of the woman demanding noise reduction. According to eyewitnesses, at this time the councilor's husband Kukhmoy Mandal and his elder brother Shadnand Mandal jumped on the Kalyan beach and beat him up. The issue took on a new dimension after the video of the incident spread. Meanwhile, an allegation has been raised that a case of attempt to murder has been filed against Vishnu Nath Mandal Kalyan, a former Trinamool leader of the area and the elder brother of the current councillor's husband. As a result, political efforts have started centering on the incident. There is tension in the area after the incident. According to Kulti police station sources, investigation has started on the basis of the complaint. But till now no official response has been received from the Trinamool Congress councilor or his family.
