The pre-election state conference of Trinamool Congress, held at the Netaji Indoor Stadium on Sunday, strongly criticized the role of the Center and the Election Commission. The party leadership claims that the SIR process has caused humiliation and financial loss to the common people. TMC State President Subrata Bakshi, MP Dola Sen, State Finance Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya and many other leaders were present in the meeting. In the speech, the context of the interim budget of the state government is highlighted. Informing about Kuber's decision to provide annual financial assistance of Rs 4,000 and Rs 1000 charges for farmers, the leader said that the state government is on the side of farmers and farm labourers. Finance Minister Chandrama Bhattacharya said that in the full budget of the state, Rs 24 thousand crore has been allocated for agricultural sector and another Rs 15 thousand crore has been allocated for agricultural supporting sector. It is claimed that under the direction of the party's All India General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, an initiative was taken to support the people by camping at 84 thousand booths in the state. Party sources claim that 18 to 20 lakh people participated in this program and the fear of common people regarding SIR was reduced to a great extent. According to the political circles, Trinamool Congress is trying to build public opinion before the elections by keeping the SIR issue at the forefront.
