Agnimitra Pal arrived with drums to file nomination, claimed “Sonar Bangla will be built under the leadership of PM Modi”, fiercely attacked Trinamool

Asansol, West Bengal: BJP candidate from Asansol South Assembly seat, Agnimitra Pal, along with her supporters reached the SDO office located in Asansol Court complex on Wednesday to file nomination. During this time the entire atmosphere appeared to be in election colours. Agnimitra Pal was seen dancing with her supporters to the beat of drums and demonstrated strength by waving the BJP flag. Many senior BJP leaders and candidates were also present in this nomination procession. Asansol North candidate Krishnendu Mukherjee, BJP State President Shamik Bhattacharya, West Bardhaman District President Debatnu Bhattacharya, besides candidates from Kulti and Barabani assembly constituencies Dr. Ajay Poddar and Arjit Rai were mainly present. Speaking to the media after the nomination, Agnimitra Pal claimed that the BJP is going to create “Sonar Bangla” in West Bengal under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the people of the state want change and this time its impact will be seen in the elections. At the same time, BJP state president Shamik Bhattacharya also made a scathing attack on Trinamool Congress and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He said that the Chief Minister seems nervous even before the proposed visit of Home Minister Amit Shah to Bhawanipur. Bhattacharya raised questions on the recent statements of Mamata Banerjee and asked why the one who calls herself “Royal Bengal Tiger” is saying such things now. Accusing Trinamool Congress, he said that the party has nothing left except “police and goons” and its departure from the state is certain. Also, reacting to Mamata Banerjee's statement in which she had said that after the election results, BJP workers will hide their identity by putting up posters, Bhattacharya hit back and said that posters will definitely be put up, but they will be of the farewell of the Trinamool government. Amidst the election environment, the sharp statements and show of strength by the leaders have further intensified the political excitement in Asansol.
