Asansol, West Bengal: A case of misleading publicity on social media has come to light regarding the fire in the party office of Trinamool councilor Moushumi Bose in Court Mod area, Ward No. 52 of Asansol Municipal Corporation. In the initial investigation, the cause of the fire has been said to be short circuit, but despite this, some people tried to create an atmosphere of fear and tension by posting the video of the incident on social media and calling it “post poll violence”. Meanwhile, newly elected BJP MLA from Asansol North assembly constituency Krishnendu Mukherjee has started the reconstruction work of the burnt Trinamool office at his own expense. BJP workers said that once the office is completely ready, it will be handed over to Trinamool leaders. BJP MLA Krishnendu Mukherjee said that West Bengal BJP President Shamim Bhattacharya has continuously made it clear that BJP does not do politics of violence but of peace and tranquility. He said that those who are trying to carry out violent incidents by applying saffron abeer-gulal and carrying BJP flags in their hands will not be spared under any circumstances. He alleged that the arson incident was falsely publicized on social media by giving it a political color so as to create an atmosphere of fear and instability among the people. The BJP MLA said that political differences have their place, but it is everyone's duty to fulfill humanitarian and social responsibilities, with this in mind the decision to reconstruct the Trinamool office has been taken.
