Asansol, West Bengal A tense situation arose during BJP's public relations campaign in Gopalpur area of Asansol North Assembly. BJP alleges that the party workers who had gathered for the public relations program were threatened and driven away from there by Trinamool workers. As soon as information about the incident was received, BJP leader Krishna Prasad reached the spot. He alleged that this incident was carried out at the behest of state minister and Trinamool MLA Malay Ghatak. He said that whether Trinamool files false cases against BJP workers, sends them to jail, beats them up or stops them from holding rallies and meetings, BJP is not going to back down. Krishna Prasad said that BJP will reach out to the people through door-to-door campaign, listen to their problems and also find a solution. He told that about 25 BJP workers had gathered for the proposed public relations program in Gopalpur, but Trinamool workers threatened them by saying that BJP program would not be allowed in the area and those participating in it would have to face consequences. According to BJP, after the threat, about 20 workers left from there, while five workers remained standing. Later, upon the arrival of Krishna Prasad, a public relations campaign was started and the program was completed. During this, the BJP leader warned the Trinamool workers and said that if any program of the BJP is disrupted, the party will organize chakka jam and violent agitation. He said that instead of provoking the BJP, Trinamool should maintain peace and allow both the parties to carry out their programs peacefully.
