Nirbheek Bengali,Asansol: BJP state leader Krishnandu Mukherjee today attacked the ruling party Trinamool Congress in strong language regarding the ongoing agitation of sanitation workers of Asansol Municipal Corporation. He alleged that despite the sanitation workers stopping work and agitating, the officials of Asansol Corporation, the local MLA and the leadership of the ruling party have no interest in it. Krishna Mukherjee's statement, "Despite the sanitation workers being away from work, the corporation officials are sitting quietly at home. There are no Trinamool Congress leaders and ministers in the field. They are sitting in AC houses and roaming around in AC cars. Whereas the common people are facing extreme hardships." He further said, “The common people pay regular corporation tax. Then why should they be deprived of civic services? Why should the common people be in this plight? Every day the common people are calling us, mailing us, coming to the office and complaining – when will they be freed from this system?” Highlighting the importance of sanitation workers, the BJP leader said, "Sanitation workers are the backbone of the society. Without them, there will be no clean environment. There is no need to break this backbone. But due to the arrogance of the power of Trinamool Congress, this situation has arisen today." He alleged that the citizens of Asansol are being harmed due to the conflict within the Trinamool Congress between the minister and the mayor. “This system has completely broken down. Trinamool Congress and its internal conflicts are responsible for this,” says Krishna Mukherjee. Raising allegations of corruption in various departments of the corporation, he further said, “Irregularities and theft are going on in almost every department of the corporation. If they can be stopped and the sanitation workers can be supported, made to understand, and intimidated, then the problem can be solved.” At last he said with a sigh, "Today the sanitation workers are protesting and protesting. The Bharatiya Janata Party is on their side. If the situation gets worse, we will be forced to take to the streets and join the movement."
