Kolkata: Former CPI(M) leader Pratikur Rahman joined Trinamool Congress in the presence of Abhishek Bandyopadhyay. This joining is considered to be momentous in the political arena before the assembly elections. Pratikur Rahman was actively associated with student politics for a long time. He previously served as a member of the West Bengal State Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). He also contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Diamond Harbor Lok Sabha constituency. He has been given a hearty welcome by Trinamool Congress. The party leadership claims that under the leadership of Mamta Bandhyopa Dhaya - he will play an important role in further strengthening the development trend of Bengal.Nandigram: Before the assembly elections, big shock in BJP camp in Nandigram of East Medhipur.
