Kolkata, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has made a major announcement by adopting a strict stance against active sand, coal, and stone mafias in the state. The Chief Minister stated that to ensure no inconvenience is faced by the common people in registering complaints against these mafias, corruption, extortion, and other illegal activities, the state government will soon launch a toll-free helpline number. The Chief Minister said that every complaint received on the helpline will be promptly investigated, and strict legal action will be taken against those found guilty in the investigation. He clarified that the government will not tolerate corruption or illegal extortion at any level. Suvendu Adhikari also sent a strong message to the police department, stating that if any police personnel are found involved in illegal extortion with photographic, video, or other substantial evidence, the concerned officer will be immediately suspended and legal action will be taken against them. The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government's 'Zero Tolerance' policy will continue with full strictness, and no one is above the law. He appealed to the public to report complaints related to corruption, mafias, and extortion without any fear so that transparent and accountable governance can be ensured in the state.
