BJP's demonstration regarding the issue of non-submission of Form 7 by ERO and BLO during the ongoing SIR process in Bengal.

During the ongoing SIR process in Asansol, West Bengal, a protest was held on behalf of the District BJP at the Asansol Court Complex Ghari Mod regarding the matter of non-deposit of Form 7 by the EROs and BLOs. BJP leaders allege that the Election Commission has clearly written in the Form 7 that the Form 7 can be submitted to the EROs and BLOs, despite this, neither the EROs nor the BLOs are depositing the Form 7, due to which they are protesting. He said that the SIR process is going on so that the voter list can be corrected, but from the behavior of the EROs and BLOs it is clearly visible that they are not working for the Election Commission but for the State Government, so that the names of fake voters can be removed from the voter list and on the strength of those voters, they can win the elections in the future as well. He said that they have a list of fake voters, which In the list, he has mentioned the names in Form 7, the form which he had gone to submit, but after seeing the form, the ERO refused to submit the form, after which he has made a file of the list of fake voters mentioned in Form 7 and kept it in the ERO office, whether he submits it or not, he will have to answer that form, during this dharna, state level leaders of BJP Nakrishnendu Mukherjee, Keshav Poddar, West Bardhaman District President Deb Tunu. Bhattacharya and other workers were present. Regarding this, Devtanu Bhattacharya said that till date, this time was given by the Election Commission that if any discrepancy is found in someone's name, then a complaint can be made to the Election Commission. For this, Form 7 has to be filled. When Bharatiya Janata Party's BLAs are going to the IRO with Form 7, it is not being accepted. BJP District President said that it appears that TMC deliberately wants to keep ineligible names in the list because by keeping ineligible people in the voter list, TMC can win the election. He said that at the behest of TMC, ERO is rejecting Form 7 in a manner which he cannot do as an Election Commission official. He said that SIR is being run across the country and there is no inconvenience anywhere but TMC is deliberately creating problems in Bengal.
