Fearless Bengali, Manikchak, Malda, Wednesday: The SIR (Special Intensive Revision) process of the voter list created excitement among the shopping malls by reading the name bar. Allegedly, names of about 400 people have been omitted from the final voter list at the two booths. In protest against this, the local residents demonstrated by burning tires and blocking the road on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred in the area adjacent to Manikchak Block S.T.B High School. Locals claim that almost every family in the village has left out some name from the list. As a result, voters are in extreme trouble. A senior voter said that he has been voting regularly for the last 40 years, but his name is not in the final list of 2026. At some places the boy's name has been left out, at other places the father's name is not there - such allegations have also come to the fore. The angry villagers started protesting by blocking the road from around 9 am. Their demand is to immediately include their names again in the voter list. The protesters have threatened to continue the agitation until their demands are met. After receiving the news, a huge police force of Manikchak police station reached the spot. Efforts are underway to bring the situation under control. Report: Sheikh Iftekhar Ali, মাংচিকা, মালাদা.
