Ghatwal Tribal Society's Karma Utsav was organized on Thursday at Uttarampur Gram Panchayat of Salanpur Block. Barabnir MLA and Asansol Vidhan Deputy Deputy Commissioner were present as special guests in this festival. The Karma Head of the district council Mohammad Armaan, Bhola Singh, co-president of Salanpur Block Trinamool and many others were present. In this event, flowers were given to the MLA. Blessings are given. The tribal women show special respect to the MLA by washing his feet as per the customs of the society and the festival. On this day, the MLA i.e. his Vidhan Upa Dhyay starts the auspicious festival by lighting a lamp in front of his Karma deity. Then, at the beginning of Karma Utsav, the MLA said about the event, this festival is being celebrated by the tribal Ghatoyal community of Saalpur block like every year. He told that he comes to this festival every year. Whatever kind of help is required for the development of the society, he will do it all the time. President of Ghatwal Samaj, Sahdev Rai said about this event that this festival of ours has been going on for many years. However, this festival of Salanpur block has been organized for the fifth year. And as per the tradition of lineage, this worship is held for seven days. Specially in this festival, Karma deity is worshiped by eating paddy. For seven days, women tie the branches of the Karma tree and perform this puja all through the night. In this festival, the sisters and sisters do this puja by fasting for the long life of their grandfathers. And this festival ends with everyone dancing, singing and giving food. On behalf of the tribal Ghatwal Samaj, the President of Karma Utsav, Dr. S.N Rai, Ghatwal Samaj Editor Shibu, Shankar Rai, Lakha Rai, Dhruv were present as guests.
