Asansole, West Bengal: A major railway accident occurred at রোহিনি-নবদিহ railway crossing between Jasidih and Madhupur under Asansol railway division on Thursday. Train No. 13510 Gonda Asansol Express collides with a moving truck. The truck is damaged, as well as the train engine. As a result of the accident, train movement on both down and up lines was disrupted for some time. This incident happened in the morning at 9:38 pm. However, at 10:55 am the online up line is restored. Asansol-Jhajjha passenger train is allowed to pass. According to eyewitnesses, during the morning commute, when the heavy duty truck was crossing the line, there was heavy traffic at the crossing. Gateman Pankaj Kumar said that due to heavy traffic no signal was given to the train. Despite this, the Gonda-Asansol Express came down the line and collided with a truck at the level crossing. The shock was so severe that widespread panic spread. During the collision, two motorcycles were hit by a truck and injured. Luckily, the motorcyclists were able to escape. No casualties have been reported so far. Local residents say that if the train had traveled at a higher speed, it could have caused significant loss of life and property damage. After receiving the news of the incident, several senior railway officials including Railway Protection Force are present at the spot and are working to restore the railway movement.
