Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana ঘিরে বিক্ষোভ

Fearless Bengali: The housing distribution center created excitement in Durgapur's Nabeen Pallee area. Under the initiative of Durgapur Municipal Corporation, on the day of distribution of valid documents under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, a number of local residents raised complaints, names of outsiders have been included in the final list, excluding the actual residents. Due to this allegation, angry residents took to the streets and protested and blocked the road. Their claim is that many eligible local residents applied for a long time and did not get a place in the list. Rather, the angry agitators, who consider themselves locals, have had their residence documents handed over to them. The protesters further alleged that there is a lack of transparency in the entire process and political influence has been exerted. Many leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party including Mandal No. 3 President Buddhidev Mandal led the protest. Their concerns would lead to a larger movement if local eligible applicants were not given residence. On the other hand, Administrative Board Chairperson Anindita Mukhopa Dhaya has denied all the allegations. According to his claim, the list has been prepared after scrutinizing the applicants as per the government rules and the entire process has been completed transparently. He said that the allegations of giving accommodation to outsiders are baseless. The protests disrupted traffic in the area for some time and created tension. The situation came under control after the administration intervened to handle the situation.
