ED raids the house of new OC Manoranjan Mandal of Budbud Police Station

There was a stir in Durgapur, West Bardhaman district today when the team of Central Investigation Agency Enforcement Directorate i.e. ED raided the house of the new OC Manoranjan Mandal of Budbud Police Station. This action is being taken in a case related to illegal coal smuggling. According to the information, the team of Enforcement Directorate has been conducting simultaneous raids in many areas of Paschim Bardhaman district since morning in the case of illegal coal smuggling. In this sequence, ED officials reached the residence of the new OC Manoranjan Mandal of Budbud Police Station, where the search operation is currently going on. According to sources, the ED team is thoroughly investigating the important documents present in the house and papers related to financial transactions. In view of security during the operation, Central Force has been deployed outside the residence. It is noteworthy that the entertainment circle was suspended a few months ago. Later he was given the responsibility of Special Branch of Asansol-Durgapur Police Commissionerate. Recently he was appointed as OC of Budbud Police Station, although he was not yet able to take charge officially. Even before taking charge, this action of ED has raised many questions and there is an atmosphere of discussion in the entire district. Information has also been received from the sources that the ED raid is not limited to Manoranjan Mandal's house only, but the search operation is also being conducted simultaneously at the locations of many businessmen involved in coal and sand business in different parts of West Bardhaman.
