Nirbhik Bangla, Kultali: Based on information from a confidential source, police from the Niamatpur outpost of Kultali police station conducted a raid on an alleged illegal iron cutting factory in the Radhanagar area. They recovered and confiscated nearly 4,000 kilograms of cast iron rods, a gas cutting machine, a weight machine, and various other tools used in the cutting process. Police sources claim that the factory is owned by a person named Bablu Sao. During the raid, the police arrested Joy Kumar Robi Das, who was working at the factory, from the spot. On Tuesday, the arrested individual was presented before the Asansol district court. Police sources have indicated that a request for a 7-day police custody for interrogation will be made in the interest of the investigation. Investigators are examining the source of the large quantity of recovered iron, whether it is legal or stolen, and who else is involved in this business. Preliminary investigations suggest that an organized syndicate may be active behind this. Meanwhile, upon receiving news of the raid, the alleged owner of the factory, Bablu Sao, fled the area. He is currently on the run, and the police are conducting searches in various places to locate him. Investigators believe that if Bablu Sao is arrested, more crucial information about the illegal iron cutting and smuggling syndicate could come to light. It is noteworthy that allegations of illegal iron cutting and smuggling have been prevalent in the Kultali-Niamatpur industrial area for a long time. Following this recent raid, police sources have hinted that larger actions may be taken against this syndicate.
