Nirbhik Bangla, Shyam Das, Asansol: The police have arrested a person in connection with a theft at a house and an adjacent utensil shop in the Kadobita More area of Dendua Kalyaneshwari Road, under the Chourangi beat of Kulti police station in West Burdwan.
According to police sources, Gopal Sen, a resident of the notified area of Kadobita, was arrested for allegedly stealing from the house and adjacent utensil shop of Anirudh Shaw. During preliminary questioning, the arrested person allegedly admitted to being involved in the theft, police sources claimed.
The accused was produced in the Asansol court on Saturday, and the police have applied for his custody for further investigation.
It is worth noting that an investigation was started under the leadership of the Chourangi beat officer as soon as the theft complaint was filed on Thursday. The police were able to arrest the accused after conducting a swift investigation. Meanwhile, police surveillance in the area has also been increased to prevent such incidents in the future.
