Nirbhik Bangla, Asansol: The Rupnarayanpur outpost of the Salanpur police station has achieved a major success within just a few hours of receiving a theft complaint. The police have arrested an accused after conducting a swift investigation. The arrested person's name is Biki Bauri (22), a resident of the Rupnarayanpur area.
According to police sources, a theft occurred at the residence of Harjit Singh, a resident of the 'Saptashree Apartment' in Mahabir Colony, Rupnarayanpur, on the night of June 16. It is alleged that at the time of the incident, the house owner was taking a bath in the bathroom. Taking advantage of the situation, the thief entered the house and stole valuable items.
Later, after learning about the incident, Harjit Singh filed a written complaint at the Rupnarayanpur police outpost. The police started investigating immediately after receiving the complaint. After gathering information from various sources and conducting a search, the police received secret information and launched an operation in the Rupnagar area on Wednesday night.
During the operation, the police were able to arrest the accused, Biki Bauri. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the arrested youth is a professional thief. He has been arrested in several theft cases in different areas in the past. Police sources claim that there are records of several criminal cases against him.
On Thursday, the accused was produced in the Asansol court. The police have stated that they have requested a seven-day police custody for the accused to interrogate him and recover the stolen items, as well as to investigate whether anyone else was involved in the theft.
