Fearless Bengali: In a major change in the police administration, the state government appointed senior IPS officer Piyush Pandey as the acting Director General of Police (DGP) of the state police. Under this administrative reshuffle, a total of 23 IPS officers have been transferred and new responsibilities have been announced. As per government guidelines, keeping in mind the current administrative situation and law and order issues, পীযূষ Pandey has been given the responsibility of DGP temporarily. In this change, the commissioners of all the police commissionerates of the state except Asansol-Durgapur Police Commissionerate have been changed. A total of 5 people have been changed in the post of Police Commissioner. Apart from this, new responsibilities have been given to many district police superintendents, range DIGs and various important department heads. Some officials have been removed from important posts and appointed elsewhere. The decision to make this major change has been taken to further strengthen law and order and speed up police work. It is believed that the state government has taken this step keeping in mind the upcoming administrative and security related challenges.
