কলকাতা: Lalbazar (Kolkata Police) canceled the leave of all policemen ahead of the elections (West Bengal Assembly Election 2021). Today, Kolkata Police Commissioner Samman Mitra issued a directive stating this. According to sources, it was clearly stated on Saturday as per the instructions of the Commissioner, that no police personnel will get any leave unless there is an emergency. The news says that this guideline has been issued to effectively handle the responsibility of maintaining law and order in the city during the upcoming assembly elections. Incidentally, the full bench of the Commission, after coming to the city a month ago, expressed dissatisfaction with the role of Kolkata Police. After this, the state administration removed Anuj Sharma and replaced him with Samman Mitra as Municipal Commissioner. Many more senior officers are also transferred. The new commissioner gave this guidance on Saturday. From March 7 to May 10 (poll results will be released on May 2), leave of all the officers of the rank of Assistant Police starting from Special CP, Additional CP, Joint Commissioner, DC and the police personnel working under them are being cancelled. Leave will not be granted unless there is a special emergency. This instruction has been given in view of the upcoming assembly elections.
