Truck seized on charges of cattle smuggling from Bihar, 21 cows rescued; 2 arrested, BJP youth leader thanks police by offering them sweets

Nirbhik Bangla, Durgapur: The police of Faridpur outpost under Durgapur police station intercepted a truck on charges of cattle smuggling from Bihar to Kolkata. Twenty-one cows were rescued from the truck. Two individuals were arrested in connection with the incident. According to police sources, on Sunday late at night, a truck loaded with cattle was heading towards Kolkata via National Highway 19. Acting on a tip-off, the police of Faridpur outpost conducted a raid and seized the truck. During the search, 21 cows were rescued, and two individuals accompanying the truck were arrested. Legal action has been initiated against the detainees. Following this police operation, BJP youth leader Parijat Gangopadhyay arrived at Faridpur outpost on Monday morning. He thanked the police for their action by offering sweets to Officer-in-Charge Susim Sarkar. Speaking on the matter, Parijat Gangopadhyay said that after a long time, the police have been seen taking active steps against cattle smuggling. He claimed that since the BJP came to power, the role of the police in maintaining law and order has become more active, and that is why people are thanking the police. No formal additional statement has yet been made by the police on the matter. The investigation is ongoing.
