Asansol, West Bengal: Political heat is increasing due to the upcoming elections in the state. In this context, the Union Minister launched a strong attack against the state government by holding a press conference at the BJP district office in Asansol. Kishan Reddy. He complains that the pace of development in West Bengal is very slow and the law and order situation is worrying. His statement was that even though there was no shortage of workers, the expected development did not happen. He claimed that small states should move ahead but West Bengal is lagging behind. Due to 'Mafia rule' and weak security system, new industries do not want to come in the state, comments Redddi. He claims that people have seen the situation in the last 15 years and now want change. Speaking in favor of a 'double engine government' under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that this will make rapid development possible in the state and create new employment opportunities for the youth. Besides, he raised the issue of immigration from Bangladesh as a big challenge and demanded strict action. He emphasizes on women's participation and empowerment. In his words, the mothers and fathers of the country are not just family, they are also the foundation of nation building and hence their equal participation is required in politics and decision making. Regarding women protection, he said, this is not a new issue. Initiatives were taken during the time of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, but they were not fully implemented.
