Nirbhik Bangla, Shyam Das, Asansol: Tension prevailed in Balanpur village of Jamuria police station's 7th ward in West Burdwan over a land dispute between two parties. On Friday, a clash broke out between the residents of Singpara and Bauripara, resulting in stone pelting and lathi charge. Several people, including women, were injured in the incident, according to local sources. A large police force from Jamuria police station reached the spot and brought the situation under control. In protest of the incident, the residents of Bauripara blocked the main road at Mithapur More on Saturday morning, demanding the immediate arrest and punishment of the accused. The protesters alleged that during the clash on Friday, some youths from Singpara beat up and abused several women from Bauripara with obscene language. The police from Jamuria police station reached the spot and spoke to the protesters, assuring them that if anyone is found guilty after investigation, legal action will be taken against them. After the police assurance, the protesters lifted the blockade. Currently, the police are deployed in the area, and the situation is calm. The Jamuria police station has started an investigation into the incident.
