Nirbheek Bengali, Asansol, own correspondent: Railway and state administration have come forward to solve the problem of water logging near Panchmukh tunnel of railway road during rainy season. Every year during the rainy season, commuters, pedestrians and vehicle drivers face extreme problems due to water logging in that area. Last week, Asansol North assembly constituency MLA Krishnendu Mukherjee visited the area, took stock of the situation and brought the matter to the notice of the railway administration. In view of this, Railway Administration Engineers and State Government representatives jointly visited the Panchmukh Tunnel area on Tuesday morning. During the inspection, there is discussion about the drainage system of the tunnel and the reason for water accumulation during rainy season. The concerned officials should be instructed to take necessary steps for permanent solution of the problem. Besides, importance is also given to improving the drainage system. This initiative of the administration has brought hope among the local residents and daily travelers. Their hope is that if necessary measures are taken before the onset of monsoon, the long-standing problem of waterlogging will be eliminated and the traffic system will become more normal.
