ICL authorities, police administration and central forces were present at the spot to handle the situation. According to local sources, that quarter was in the possession of Binodh Nonia for a long time. Due to the complaints of the local residents and their influence, an atmosphere of fear was created in the area. Recently, there was anger among the local people after allegations of recovery of some objectionable material including government triplets and ration cards during a raid on that party office came to light. Meanwhile, local residents are raising questions about the legality of the community hall and marriage hall in the area. When asked about this matter to the ECI authorities, the concerned colliery agent said that no NOC (No Objection Certificate) was taken for those government buildings. A rumor spread during the incident that the houses of ordinary residents living in the area would be demolished. As a result, panic and confusion spread and the situation became more heated. Later, under the initiative of human rights activist Rekha Bhattacharya, discussions were held with the General Manager of Satgram-Sripur Area of ​​ICL and the higher authorities of Eastern Coalfields Limited. After that discussion, the administration decided to temporarily suspend the evacuation operation and give a time limit of 15 days. The administration has put up notices in the concerned quarters informing that the quarters will have to be vacated within 15 days. The administration is keeping an eye on the situation and necessary measures have been taken to maintain law and order.
