Along with the launch of this project across the state under the initiative of the Chief Minister, symbolic certificates were handed over to the consumers in West Bengal district also. They handed over Annapurna Yojana checks to some female consumers. The District Magistrate said that about one lakh applications were submitted in the district. Initially, the process of sending money to about 80 thousand consumer accounts has started. Although a symbolic check has been given to some, the remaining applications are still at the stage of verification. After completion of verification, money will also be given to other consumers in a phased manner. He further said, online application for Annapurna Yojana has started from Wednesday. After reading the new applications submitted, funds will be sent to the accounts of eligible consumers after administrative verification. On the other hand, Durgapur East MLA Lakshman Chandra Ghaddu and Durgapur West MLA Chandrashekhar Bandyopadhyay were present in an event organized at the Srijani Auditorium of Durgapur. There, about 100 consumers are given token certificates and financial assistance of Rs 3,000 is provided to their accounts. Consumers have expressed satisfaction after receiving the money from Annapurna Yojana. The MLA present today said that all the public welfare projects that were promised in the election manifesto are being implemented step by step after the formation of the government.
