Young man's unique faith in change of power in Bengal

Asansol, After the change of power in West Bengal and formation of BJP government, a unique case related to faith and politics has come to light in Asansol. Youth Somu Bhandari, resident of Asansol South Assembly constituency, has become a topic of discussion in the area these days. The reason is his vow which he had made to Maa Kali regarding political change in the state and on completion of which, he prostrated for about two kilometers and reached the temple and offered prayers. According to Somu Bhandari, he was deeply troubled by the incidents of increasing violence, corruption and alleged bullying at the local level in the state. He told that some time ago he had gone to the house of one of his relatives in Barabani, where he was reportedly deeply hurt after seeing the behavior of Trinamool supporters and their influence in the area. At the same time, the desire for political change in the entire state including Barabani Assembly arose in his mind. Somu told that after this he reached the famous Ghaghar Budhi Kali temple and made a vow to Maa Kali that if there is a change of power in West Bengal, BJP government is formed, Suvendu Adhikari becomes the Chief Minister and Ajit Rai BJP MLA is elected from Barabani Assembly, then he will pay obeisance to Maa Kali and offer prayers. Now when his vow was fulfilled after the BJP government was formed in the state and Suvendu Adhikari became the Chief Minister, Somu Bhandari, keeping his vow, performed a prostration from his home to the temple with full enthusiasm and devotion. After reaching the temple, he performed special puja and took the blessings of Maa Kali. This unique devotion and determination of Somu is now being discussed rapidly in the area. This incident has emerged as a different example of faith, politics and personal belief among the local people.
