Nirbhik Bengali, Asansol: A heated situation has arisen over a family dispute related to land in the Beltali area of Deogauno village panchayat of Falakata block of Uttar Pradesh. In this incident, an allegation has been lodged against village Panchayat's Deputy Head Vikas Barman for slapping a woman, which has created panic in the area. According to local sources, there was a dispute regarding land between the residents of the area, Manorunjan Sarkar and Sunil Sarkar for a long time. To solve that problem, a consultation meeting was organised, where Deputy Chief Vikas Barman was present. But when the disputes between the two sides became intense, the meeting collapsed. After this, Manorunjan Sarkar filed a written complaint against Falakata police station and Sunil Sarkar. Complaint: A few days later, on Sunday afternoon, Deputy Chief Vikas Barman again went to Manohar's house and tried to settle the matter. At that time, the situation became more heated when Sunil Sarkar's family members wanted to know the reason for filing the complaint. The complainant woman, Mamni, claims that when she tried to video the incident on her mobile, the Deputy Chief snatched her phone, threw her and hit her. He raised questions, how can a public representative lay hands on a woman and demanded proper investigation and justice into the incident. However, Deputy Chief Vikas Barman has denied all the allegations. His claim is that he did not kill anyone and a deliberate attempt is being made to defame him. Due to the heated situation, he simply removed his mobile phone, he said. According to police sources, investigation into the incident has been started based on the complaint. At present the situation in the area is under control.
