Nirbheek Bengali, own correspondent, Asansol: Keeping in view the upcoming elections, vigorous police investigation is being carried out at Duburdihi check post of Kulti police station under Asansol-Durgarhpur Police Commissionerate. The administration has tightened security in this border area. On Tuesday morning, about 210 baby tealings were recovered after searching a four-wheeler vehicle coming from Jharkhand. Mohammad Samir and Mohammad Suleman have been arrested in the incident. The accused were residents of Kolkata and during initial interrogation they claimed to be involved in bird trade. Later the car, the baby bird and the accused were handed over to the forest department. On the other hand, at the same check post late on Monday night, another vehicle was searched and cash worth Rs 6 lakh 51 thousand 500 was recovered. Mohammad Wakuyar, Abdul Rauf Hashmi and Mohammad Shakir Khan have been arrested in this incident. All of them are residents of Uttar Pradesh and could not show any valid documents for the recovered cash, police sources said. Sheikh Jaffad Hussain and the officer of Kulti police station and the police station were present during the police search. Apart from this, this investigation is being conducted in joint initiative of SST, Police, Excise Department and Central Army. According to the administration, such surveillance has been strengthened in the border areas in order to ensure fair and peaceful conduct of elections.
