There is a long queue in front of the agency since early morning. Women, elders and youth have to stand for hours and hours in the scorching heat, as a result of which many fall ill, it is alleged. In this situation, CPI(M)'s legislative candidate Md. Sabbir Hossain reached the spot, talked to the people standing in line and listened to their problems. He strongly criticized the current gas distribution system, saying, "This is not a good system. For a basic service, common people have to stand in queues for hours and hours. Women are suffering the most." He assured that if he wins the elections, there will be reforms in the gas distribution system. He said that this problem will be solved permanently by introducing digital token system, strengthening local level distribution and improving the supply system. Meanwhile, political pressure has started centering on this incident. The CPI (M) candidates, coming forward against Bharatiya Janata Party and All India Trinamool Congress, alleged that for a long time these two parties have only made promises, but in reality could not provide any permanent solution to the problems of the common people. Common people present at the spot expressed anger. Women, especially, said that standing in queues for long periods of time in the scorching heat is extremely painful and a health hazard. The incident has exposed the lack of basic services and the weakness of the administrative system in Jamuria. With elections ahead, this issue has now become an important topic of discussion in the political arena.
