Fearless Bengali, Asansol | Shyam Das: Amidst the tight police vigil in view of the elections, the police recovered a huge amount of Indian and foreign currency during police checking at the Kalipahaaadi crossing of Asansol South police station. According to police sources, around 400 US dollars and 6200 Dubai Dirhams were recovered from a four-wheeler vehicle going from Kolkata to Asansol. Apart from this, Indian currency worth about Rs. 2.2 lakh has also been seized. Police arrested a person in the incident and started interrogation. Police has started investigation into where this huge amount of money was coming from and where it was being taken. This incident created buzz in the area before the elections.
