On Tuesday afternoon, at around 3.30 pm, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee landed in the helicopter from Bagdogra at the Tiyaban helipad adjacent to Matiyali block. From there he went to St. Catholic Church. In the church premises, through the local culture, he is warmly welcomed and welcomed by the presence of the bishop, pastor and father. While speaking at the event, Bishop Fabian Toppo praised the various people-oriented projects of the Chief Minister. He mentioned the issue of women's welfare projects including Kanyashree and receiving the Chief Minister's honor in the international field. Pastor Basant Lama said, while in different parts of the country there are allegations of attacks on the Christian community on the day, the festival is celebrated peacefully in West Bengal. He also demanded a government holiday on Good Friday. Speaking for about 15 minutes, the Chief Minister said that the state government has done many developmental works for the Christian community. He took up the words of Sri Ramakrishna and gave the message of happiness. Regarding the Good Friday holiday, he said that due to restrictions during the elections, it is not possible to take a decision now, but the matter will be considered after the elections. He further said, Aikyaashree, Kanyashree, Lakshir Bhandar – all projects are for people of all religions and communities. “Whatever we say, we do it” comments the Chief Minister. He also gave the message of not believing in caste differences.
