Not only liquor, long queues formed at mutton and chicken shops in Shilpanchal

Asansol, Holi, the holy festival of colors and gulal, is being celebrated with great pomp across the country. The special splendor of Holi and Dol festival was also seen in Shilpanchal region of West Bengal. On Tuesday, Dol Yatra was taken out in traditional manner and Dol Utsav was celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm. As per government instructions, liquor shops were opened for a few hours on Tuesday, while on Wednesday an order was issued to keep all the shops completely closed. For this reason, long queues of people were seen outside liquor shops on Tuesday. People stood in line for hours to buy their favorite liquor. However, despite the crowd, no untoward incident was reported from anywhere. On Wednesday, on the day of Holi, a huge crowd gathered at mutton and chicken shops. People were seen standing in queue since morning to buy chicken and mutton. There were long queues outside many shops and a lot of excitement was seen in the markets. People shopping told that on the occasion of Holi, along with celebrating the festival with colors and gulal, they also prepare special dishes at home. Chicken and mutton are mainly included in these dishes. Some people said that Holi comes once a year and they eagerly wait for this day. Together with family, relatives and friends they celebrate this festival with joy and happiness. This year's Holi in Shilpanchal region saw a unique confluence of excitement, enthusiasm and tradition, where along with colors, there was also a special flavor of taste and celebration.
