There is a lot of anger among the local people due to the stagnation of water supply in the Karmakar Pada area of Porira village located in Ward No. 14 of Asansol Municipal Corporation for the last four days.

In the Karmakar Pada area of Porira village located in Ward No. 14 of Asansol Municipal Corporation, huge anger was seen among the local people due to stagnation of water supply for the last four days. People yearning for every drop of water created a ruckus in the area and expressed their anger against the administration.
As soon as information about the incident was received, BJP state level leader Krishnandu Mukherjee reached the spot with his supporters and listened to the problems of the local people. He talked to the concerned officials and demanded restoration of water supply as soon as possible. Apart from this, he also talked to Asansol Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ekam J Singh on phone. It has come to light that the Commissioner has assured to solve the water problem within 24 hours.
On the other hand, Trinamool councilor of ward number 14 Utpal Sinha also reached the spot with his supporters. In view of the situation, North police station was also deployed in large numbers so that any untoward incident could be prevented.
During this, BJP leader Krishnandu Mukherjee alleged that under the AMRUT project, a plan was made by the Central Government to provide water to every home of the people of Shilpanchal, but even today people are deprived of basic facilities. He raised the question where the crores of rupees received for the AMRUT project were spent. He also claimed that there is water crisis not only in Ward 14 but also in many other areas including Ward 13, 15, 21 and 22.
The BJP leader warned that if water supply was not restored within 24 hours, they would be forced to carry out violent agitation.
At present, the situation is being monitored by the administration and people are expected to get relief soon.
