Andal, East Vandaman: Without Andal. From 7 am on Monday, dismissed workers and their family members joined the protest by blocking the road outside Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC)-R Andal gate. Due to the protest, there was widespread chaos in front of the DBC gate. Due to the blockage, many DVC engineers and other officials got stuck outside the gate. The protesters claim that the authorities laid off 96 workers working at DBC without any prior notice about 11 months ago. After this, despite approaching the authorities several times, the problem was not resolved. Their complaints were met with repeated discussion and virtually no action was taken. Protester Tapas Rai said, "We have been removed from our work without any notice. We have been discussing with the authorities for a long time with no results. Therefore, we are forced to take to the streets today." This blockade will continue until the workers' demands are dismissed and the workers are not allowed to return to work after being given the gate pass. Due to the blockade, many workers and officials got stuck outside the DBC gate. Police reached the spot and tried to control the situation. But till now no official response has been received from DBC authorities in this regard. There is tension in the area.
