Allegedly, in the absence of OCI, Sub-Inspector Dhruvajiyoti Datt is patrolling the area with the same blue badged car. There has been anger among a section of common people regarding this issue. The top post of the police station is vacant, but the vehicle symbolizing 'ওদি' continues to be used - this has raised a storm of questions. His recent change of instructions has further complicated the situation. It is learned that the family name of the deceased has been changed. Despite this, even on Saturday, he was seen in a car fitted with the same blue beacon, it is alleged. Why should a transferred officer continue to use government vehicle and symbolic facilities - this is the question being raised in the administrative palace. Many are raising questions about the rule of law. On one hand, common people are fined or prosecuted for breaking traffic laws, on the other hand, if there is doubt about the rules within the police station, then where is the place of trust - these are the questions residents are raising. There was no official response from the police on this matter. There is uncertainty whether the higher authorities will look into the issue. The blue beacon of a police car is not just a light, it is a symbol of responsibility and power. If a question arises regarding the use of that symbol, it becomes a matter of administrative transparency. There is no OC in Salanpur now, but there is no dearth of questions.
