Asansol/Barabani: Bidhan Upadhyay, the director of Asansol Municipal Corporation, participated in several developmental programs on Saturday. Earlier in the day, he inaugurated the new building of the modern primary school in Bolkunda village. The building has been constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 74 lakh from the CSR fund of Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL). Local residents claim that with the opening of the new building, the long standing infrastructural problems of the students will be solved. After this, the MLA went to the office of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited in Roopnaarayanpur and held a meeting with the officials. There is a discussion among the land owners about providing employment opportunity to one of their family members who is above 60 years of age. It is said that the power grid authorities have shown a positive attitude towards Vidhan Upadhyay's proposal. Later, he initiated the work of laying about two and a half kilometers of cast road from the base of Salanpur Panchayate via Kshudika Railway Gate to Kalitla. It is reported that this road will be constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 1 crore 74 lakh from the Zilla Parishad fund. In this context, the MLA said, "Upgradation is happening, there will be more development in the coming days. Mamata Banerjee is the driver of development. She does not understand anything except development." Present at the event were Zilla Parishad's Working President Mohd. Armaan, Salanpur Panchayet Samiti President Klash Pati Mandal, Co-President Vidyut Mishra, Salanpur Block Trinamool Congress Co-President Bhola Singh along with other public representatives and local residents.
