Fearless Bengali: A special workshop was organized at Bankura Sammilani Medical College and Hospital under the initiative of West Bengal branch of The Association of Surgeons of India to spread better medical practice and highlight new aspects of modern surgery. Experienced surgeons from several medical colleges and hospitals of the state participated in this workshop. Doctors and students were also present. Modern surgical methods, new techniques of complex operations, patient safety and post-operative care – all these topics are discussed in detail and practical presentation is given. According to the organisers, such workshops not only enhance the skills of doctors but also provide an opportunity to medical students to gain hands-on experience. Through this, the standard of medical services in the district will improve further, the concerned palace said.
